The Goal

1

Basic training for the CEREC method is essential to your success with this incredible technology.  Proper instruction is your key to understanding the nuances of the CEREC device and will bring you and your patients great rewards.  The incorporation of any new technology brings with it a "learning curve" and it is the objective of Dr. Masek's sound "Basic" training to help you achieve a firm foundation.
The Method

2

A thorough explanation of the CEREC method followed by extensive hands on experience will bring confidence to your use of CEREC .  Lecture and hands on practice in all of the basic restorative modes will equip you with the concepts that you will require to accomplish most daily, routine restorations in a single patient visit.  Extensive interaction with Dr. Masek and his knowledgeable staff will address your individual needs and objectives as you progress in your learning experience
The Agenda

3

Hands on experience in your training session will include the design and fabrication of several types of CEREC Ceramic restorations.  You will begin with the fundamentals of basic design as you learn to create a simple MOD inlay.  You then progress to the development of excellent contacts.  You will then build on these basics and learn how to manufacture restorations that involve cusp replacements. Concepts of design will start to become "second nature".

An extensive slide review of applications in real clinical situations will give you a basic understanding of the wide range of CEREC possibilities.   You will begin to see that, as you progress in your skill and mastery of the Cerec method, virtually any single tooth restoration is within your capabilities.  You will then be able to offer an extremely valuable service to your patients that will set you practice apart and provide you with rewards on many levels.

Your foundation will increase as design of complete posterior crowns is explored for the creation of cusps, incorporation of axial and proximal contours and definition of the occlusal surface.  Preparation design is covered extensively so that your results are predictable and consistent and you will prepare a practice tooth, fabricate the restoration, bond it in place and polish.   "Adhesive Dentistry" techniques are covered and both method and product suggestions are explored.

An actual live patient demonstration of the technique is performed so that you can see first hand all of the steps and flow of a complete procedure in real time, with an opportunity to interact with Dr. Masek about his techniques and compare them to your own.  Invaluable information can be shared among all of the participants on a variety of issues that add to the value of your experience.

A demonstration of the fabrication of anterior crowns and veneers will complete you introduction to the capabilities of CEREC and provide you with tangible goals upon which you may set your sites as you progress in this exciting learning and growth process.

Finally, issues of case selection, practice integration, appointment scheduling, marketing the Cerec restoration and insurance issues are explored.

Conclusion
Your investment in this exciting technology is a clear indication of your commitment to yourself, your patient and your belief in the fact that excellent fee-for-service dentistry is alive and well.  The excellent foundation that you will acquire during this "basic" training course will empower you to provide a higher level of care for your patients and provide you with a great deal of personal satisfaction.  Your choice has been a good one and will provide many rewards as you continue to grow and harness the technology for your practice.

The beauty of CEREC is that it brings a "Chairside" laboratory into your office and you determine the level of implementation.  Dr. Masek's "Basic" course will equip you with the tools that you need to create a wide range of restorations, but there are other avenues to explore if and when you are ready.  Single visit placement of custom stained and characterized anterior crowns and veneers can be an unexpected service to your patient, yielding referrals.  A complete smile makeover with the placement of 6 or more ceramic veneers in a single visit is a distinct possibility for you.  Splinted veneers, inlay supported bridges, cantilevers, Inceram Alumina, Zirconia and Spinnell crowns and exotic restorative designs that preserve your patient's tooth structure can be within your grasp as you move on to higher levels of skill and understanding in the Cerec Method.  Dentistry by Design, Inc with Dr. Rich Masek offers a full range of Advanced and Mastery Level courses to help you get to the level that you want to achieve with CEREC.
