Dr. Masek felt a call to professional instruction while teaching bible studies in his home. He created Dentistry By Design, Inc. in 1993 to share his expertise and provide continuing education to doctors from around the world in cosmetic and CAD/CAM dentistry. His San Diego office houses a state of the art teaching facility and he has taught hundreds of courses in nine countries on four continents. He has authored numerous articles in national and international publications on cosmetic and CAD/CAM dentistry and served for 6 years as the President of the Academy of CAD/CAM Dentistry. He wrote the first book demonstrating CEREC esthetics, "Highly Esthetic CEREC Solutions", which has been distributed world wide.
Offering this expertise to his patients, Dr. Masek provides metal and mercury free esthetic and functional dentistry.
Dr. Masek and his beautiful wife, Sheri, enjoy their three daughters, 5 grandchildren and their two four footed children, Yorkies, Amy and Molly. He is active in his church, has earned his Masters in Theology from Life Christian University, enjoys teaching, computers, photography, music, travel, writing and clean mountain air.

Debbie attended Grossmont College and spent 10 years in a corporate banking position before joining the Dental Expressions team in 1991. Dr. Masek recognized Debbie's exceptional customer service skills and placed her at the front desk as the Appointment and Financial Coordinator. She is well versed in scheduling appointments, insurance, financial options and answering dental questions. She moved into the Treatment Coordinator position working closely with Dr. Masek during examinations to assure your complete understanding of recommended treatment. Debbie now manages the Dental Expressions team ensuring a comfortable, educational and quality experience for our patients. She has a California X-ray license and is CPR Certified. She loves seeing patient transformations with what cosmetic dentistry has to offer. The relationships she has cultivated with our patients over the years are invaluable.
Stephanie began her dental career in 1984 as a Registered Dental Assistant after graduating from Pacific College for Medical & Dental Assisting. She has worked as an RDA in General Dentistry, Periodontics, and Oral Maxilliofacial Surgery. In addition to chairside assisting, she has functioned as a treatment/financial coordinator since 1989. Stephanie is extremely knowledgeable about the field of dentistry & enjoys working with patients to achieve their restorative and cosmetic desires.
Stephanie's goal is to help you maximize your insurance benefits and work out affordable financial options for your remaining treatment balance. She is extremely knowledgeable about dental insurance as well as client financing and flexible spending accounts.
Kris enjoys the distinct roll of being Dr. Masek's first employee, as well as his eldest daughter. Joining Dr. Masek in 1976 to form the Dental Expression Team, Kris has shared her fathers' passion for dentistry. She has worked alongside Dr. Masek, on and off throughout the past 31 years. Kris is patient-oriented, well organized and meticulous, with a keen eye for esthetics. She is licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant, maintains a license for Coronal Polish and is CPR Certified.
Teonna graduated from Concorde Career College in 2006 as a Dental Assistant and continued her studies to receive her license as a Registered Dental Assistant, joining the team in 2007. She has experience in cosmetic, restorative, periodontal, orthodontic (Invisalign) and implant dentistry. She was drawn to this office because of the beautiful quality dentistry being done here by the doctor and hygienists. Teonna is the OSHA Coordinator for the office and she has her California X-ray license, Coronal Polish and Ultra Sonic license and is CPR Certified.
Our patients adore Laura who joined the Dental Expressions team in 1999. Laura is a 1988 graduate of the Dental Hygiene Program at the Madison Area Technical College in Madison, Wisconsin. She has her expanded functions license with nitrous oxide and local anesthesia. Laura has 22 years of experience, practicing hygiene in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and California. Laura is CPR and Laser Certified. Laura has been using the laser for periodontal treatments for the past 4 years.
Stacie graduated in 1990 from Mott Community College Hygiene Program in Flint Michigan. Sharing her passion for dentistry with patients is why the Dental Expressions team asked Stacie to join them in 2003. Stacie brings a gentle, caring approach to hygiene, while helping to educate patients. Stacie is CPR and Laser Certified. Stacie also has her expanded functions license to administer nitrous oxide and Local Anesthesia. She has served as a board member for 16 years and has been a past president of The San Diego Hygiene Society. Stacie is also the founder of the East County Dental Hygiene Laser Study Group started in 2006.
